Plaques at the University Hospital of North Tees

These plaques were spotted by Maureen Ramshaw on a visit to the University Hospital of North Tees. They are on display near the Fracture Clinic which is situated on the ground floor in what used to be the Maternity Wing.

  1. Its long been a bragging right of mine that I was the first to use the lifts in the new hospital. The outer shell wasn’t even on when we went up it and we got chased of the property. No way of proving this naturally but then sometimes memories are not about fact are they?!

  2. I saw these old plaques on display and they immediately took me back in time to the visits I made to the old Stockton and Thornaby Hospital in the 1940-50″s when my brother was often in hospital as a youngster and teenager. These visits always filled me with dread and I was always thankful that I was never a patient, just a visitor! Many of you will no doubt remember these Ward names too I”m sure.
