  1. I worked in Boots the chemist that was originally Timothy Whites at the time of the demolition. Three workmen came in one night just before closing time and asked for the biggest tins of rat poison that we had. I had none in stock as it had to be ordered so next morning they picked up a large supply of 12lb tins of warfarin. The following day one guy came in to order more as he said when they had gone in that morning there wasn’t a speck of the stuff to be seen or a dead rat as he said they would have gone into the river to die.
