Red Arrow Gnat at Middleton St George c1972

t15201This will be from the Battle of Britain display in September 1972. It gives a very good idea of how small was the Folland Gnat as a two seat trainer. It was actually too small for some large pilots who had to be trained on the Hunter Mk 7. But as a display aircraft, unbeatable!

  1. Things have certainly changed now because a neighbour of mine who is six feet four inches at least was a squadron leader in the Red Arrows.
