Class 37 37063, Stockton Goods Depot Branch

t15259The view has radically changed since I took this photograph in 1985, it shows Class 37 37063 on the Stockton Goods Depot branch, which once extended all the way down to the quayside. A new road, “1825 Way” (in recognition of the Stockton & Darlington Railway), now occupies the trackbed.

  1. Can anyone confirm the layout further down at the St Johns Crossing in the mid 70’s? I have a shakey recollection of coal drops there – or at least coal hopper waggons sitting idle. travelling from Thornaby they were on the left opposite the old S&D booking office.
